Fri, June 3, 2005 - 1:11 PMIt's probably a manufactured urban legend. Warren just made it up to fuck with people.

Tue, June 14, 2005 - 11:57 PMit's real, I'm watching it right now. great production values... it looks phenomenal. I dig the actors, miranda zero is awesome. you can read all about it on the show's producer's blog (he got real talkative after the torrent leaked):

I think I see why WB chose not to pick up the series... It's really dark, and not nearly as dumbed down as other series of it's ilk. I'd really like to think there's enough audience to justify this.
goddam, I wish this would get picked up by one of the networks. maybe showtime (or hbo, though it's not really style). -

Wed, June 29, 2005 - 10:21 PMJust posted the following over at scifi.tribe.net but thought it might be appropriate to repost here...
To be honest, the GF pilot is okay, but...well...it's okay. A lot of the advance buzz has made this pilot sound like a religious experience in the form of a television show, people being moved to tears and vowing to change their lives as a result of seeing it, and if you watch it expecting this you will be disappointed.
It's just okay. It didn't impress me as much as, say, the average episode of Buffy or Angel, and was not as provocative as a particularly good episode of Farscape could be. I wasn't as impressed by this as I was by the new series of Doctor Who. That's not to say it didn't have the potential to become something really good in time -- it's just a pilot. But I suspect a dozen equally good pilots are made and go unseen every year.
The really good stuff is stuff that comes straight from the first issue of GF. The parts that were added to fill it out to episodic tv format are divided between a few nice visuals a couple of good performances on the one hand...and some actual dumbing down and clunky exposition on the other hand. Needless implied love interest between two characters, and some of the inherent coolness of the original concept is watered down and becomes more like a conventional SF spy thriller.
Oh yeah, and Miranda Zero gets a fight scene which is all kewl and Matrixy, just because. :-/
The actress who plays Aleph is brilliant, though. -

Tue, July 5, 2005 - 5:31 PMAgree with RAB. Biggest flaw in the show for me was that they were (planning) on having a set of continuing characters...unlike the comic (except for Miranda and Aleph of course). :/
